Admin Portal (Super Admin)¶
Overview¶
The Super Admin portal manages the SUMS platform across schools: onboarding institutions, packages, subscriptions, global templates, and platform-wide reports—not day-to-day classroom operations.
Logging in¶
Use Admin login: Login.aspx?type=Admin (no school scid required for platform admin accounts).
Core responsibilities¶
| Area | Typical screens |
|---|---|
| School onboarding | School Master, School Group, Contact Master |
| Packages & subscription | Package Master, Subscription Master |
| Users & roles | User Master, Role Master (admin module type) |
| Communication templates | SMS/Email template masters |
| Board & reference data | Board Master, Status Master |
| Leaderboards / gamification | Leaderboard configuration |

Menus are loaded from Module Master with ModuleType = 1 (Admin) per admin role.
Onboard a new school (high level)¶
- Create School Group if part of a chain.
- Add School Master record (name, code, contact, branding).
- Assign Package and Subscription dates.
- Create school admin user with School portal role.
- Provide school-specific Login URL with encrypted
scid. - Copy standard module/menu setup from template school if using copy tools.
Templates and credits¶
- Configure SMS credits and sender IDs per school or globally.
- Maintain email SMTP defaults (schools may override).
- Manage WhatsApp bridge school mapping (IT operations).
Reports¶
Platform usage, subscription expiry, school-wise activity, and billing reports (exact names vary by deployment).
Best practices¶
- Never share Super Admin credentials with school staff.
- Use subscription end dates to trigger renewal workflows.
- Document each school’s package features (LMS, hostel, etc.) in subscription notes.
